Acceptable Use Policy
Your workspace is a real Linux machine with root access — build, compile, host, and run whatever your projects need. The short list below is non-negotiable: these activities generate abuse reports against the whole platform and put every customer's machine at risk. You accept this policy when you create an account.
Prohibited without exception
Cryptocurrency mining
Mining, staking pools, or any sustained compute whose purpose is generating cryptocurrency — on any tier, at any utilization.
Network scanning & denial of service
Port scanning, vulnerability scanning of systems you don't own, packet flooding, DDoS participation, or any traffic intended to disrupt other networks.
Spam
Sending unsolicited bulk email or messages, running open relays, or operating infrastructure for spam campaigns. (Outbound port 25 is blocked platform-wide.)
Phishing
Hosting phishing pages, credential-harvesting kits, or deceptive content impersonating other services — including on preview URLs.
Torrent seedboxes
Operating BitTorrent seedboxes or any sustained public file-sharing service for content you don't have the rights to distribute.
Tor exit nodes
Running Tor exit nodes or other anonymous-egress relays that route third-party traffic out of your workspace's IP.
Enforcement
We monitor resource and network patterns (not your files or code) for the signatures of the activities above. Suspected violations may be throttled automatically; confirmed violations lead to workspace suspension or termination and account closure. Evidence is retained for every enforcement action, and each Hetzner abuse report concerning a workspace is investigated and answered within 24 hours.
